Bouillon - Eating Out

Eating places ranging from the small chip shop to the gastronomic restaurant are far too numerous and diverse to be named here. Our “local correspondent” has therefore tried to pick out a place combining local atmosphere and food with good value for money.

Café-Restaurant La Vieille Ardenne answered all the criteria he had set out to find: easy to reach, café in front, restaurant at the back, outdoor terrace, catering for locals and therefore at local prices, good regional food, welcoming hosts.

Situated at n°9 Grand Rue – near the main bridge over the Semois, at the bottom of the hill leading up to the castle.

We are sure, however, that many others can answer these specifications and you need only to enter whichever place attracts you to find a hearty welcome and good food.

Group restaurant for coach parties: There are 7 restaurants in Bouillon with the seating capacity to accommodate coach parties. Our suggestion however is to link your lunch break with the visit of a tourist attraction – the Crête des Cerfs or animal park high above Bouillon. A large car park for coaches and a 200-seat restaurant will rid you of your two major problems and the animal park will interest children, families and seniors alike. The tour of the park will constitute a 45-minute appetite opener.
