Giovanni Biasiolo is from Liège and his story begins with the outline of an idea, a word or an atmosphere, glimpsed in a second. Just when you thought you had pinned it down, it goes off to live in a place known only to the imagination. His signature designs all share this capacity for the ceaseless invention of new worlds and new images: daringly innovative worlds striking out into unknown territory.
Biasiolo was born in Vielsam and holds degrees in Interior Design from the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels and in Fashion Design from the Château Massart. He also followed courses in graphic design and advertising. He likes exploring new territories and enjoys using all the resources of knitwear — his favourite material — and natural colours. He wants to be seen as attentive to the wishes, or even the imaginations and moods, of the people who wear the clothes he designs. He sees his work as 80% the result of his creativity and 20% the result of his clients’ wishes.
He has designed a number of award-winning collections, including the costumes for the film The Mask of the Red Death by Jacques Donjean, and numerous costumes for performers and theatrical plays.
