What better way to discover a country than walking or cycling through it? Walking quietly through the woods will give you the opportunity to encounter the varied and plentiful Belgian wild life. Cycling will enable you to discover small villages that scatter the countryside.
Wherever you stay, the local tourist office will be happy to provide you with guidebooks and maps of the local areas foot and cycle paths. They'll also have information on the degree of difficulty involved (there are some steep climbs!).
The Walloon authorities have recognised the importance of these activities and have invested in bettering the conditions for hikers, cyclists, horse riders and cross-country skiers.
